MaoFeng Tea

Huangshan Maofeng is the most famous variety, originating from the Huangshan region of Anhui Province, China. It was first created by Xie Yutai Tea House in the late Qing Dynasty (1875). The name of this tea translates to "Maofeng", referring to its silvery-white fuzzy buds and mountainous origins.

Production
·Picking: Leaves are hand-picked in early spring (around the Qingming Festival), when the first buds and young leaves emerge.

Processing
·Shaqing: The wilted leaves are heated to stop oxidation, preserving their bright green color.
·Rolling (Rou Nian): The leaves are gently rolled to shape them and release their natural juices.
·Drying (Gan Zao): Slow drying over charcoal ensures that the tea leaves retain their freshness and aroma.

Characteristics
·Appearance: Slender, curled leaves with fine silvery-white hairs, resembling bird tongues.
·Aroma: Fresh, floral, with notes of orchid and chestnut.
·Taste: Soft and mellow, with sweet undertones and a lingering, refreshing finish.
·Color: Light yellow-green tea, clear and bright.
